Is there a waiting period before my coverage starts?

Nope! Coverage starts immediately.

What's the definition for Single, Couple, Family?

A couple is two adults. A family consists of at least 1 adult and 1 child.

Do I need a medical exam to apply?

The coverage is guaranteed issue, so no medical questions will be asked of you.

Can I add my spouse or dependents to my plan?

Yes. Overaged children attending post-secondary education can be covered. Parents under 70 years old, for whom you provide home care and are listed for tax purposes as a dependent, can be covered.

Is my premium tax-deductible as a self-employed person?

Yes. Premiums paid to private health services plans, including medical, dental, and hospitalisation plans, are considered eligible medical expenses by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Can I change coverage tiers?

Yes, when the plan renews. The renewal month is December each year.

Is Ozempic or other GLP-1 drugs covered?

For the treatment of diabetes, yes. For weight loss, no.
